Better, bolder, brighter and more beautiful than before – what can you expect from the new and improved SRB?
Rebuilding from the ground up – from the new plush carpets underfoot, to the cascading chandeliers forming a halo of light above your heads – every design element has been meticulously chosen to create a stunning ambience of understated glamour, romantic decadence and luxury. Whilst staying true to our classic Art Deco heritage, we have added a modern twist to our new entrance foyer, bar and ballroom. The look is deep and moody, sleek and sophisticated, yet fresh and contemporary – the picture perfect backdrop to complement any special event.
Honouring our past is important to us, so we kept the parts that meant the most to our iconic history – the original terrazzo floor from the Adelphi Theatre to form part of our new entrance foyer… the black frame from the 1960’s which is now the base for our new stunning 6 metre wide, 7000 crystal chandelier in the centre of the ballroom which was lovingly handcrafted and installed by Pro Light and Sound… the 1920’s Art Deco details in the carpets, walls and light fixtures that give a subtle nod to the era in which our much loved venue was born.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to every business, tradesperson and supplier that contributed their product or service during our rebuild – especially working around Covid restrictions, regulations and lockdowns. A very special thank you to Henry Sgourakis from Sgourakis Architects whose expertise, creativity and management guided and inspired us to create and complete our new interior that we love so much.
Although most of SRB is shiny and new, the one constant that will never change is our commitment and passion to create the most memorable experiences for our clients and guests. We always have, and always will, provide the absolute best customer service – tailored and unique to each client – from initial enquiry, through to pack down and everything in between! Under the helm of directors Rob and Maria Cadoni, the fabulous dedicated team that worked tirelessly behind the scenes to create the most magical events for you before our renovation, are the same trusted team welcoming you back. That’s a whole lot of skill, creativity, knowledge, reliability, professionalism and wisdom to assist you with planning the event of your dreams!
The past 20 months have been challenging. But also inspiring, reflective and hopeful. Together with our hardworking and passionate staff, loyal and understanding clients, and our supportive and loving local community, the future of San Remo Ballroom is bright – our best days are still ahead of us, we are ready to begin this exciting new chapter and we cannot wait to start making memories with you all again!
