Maria Cadoni
Boasting 25 years of hospitality experience and a passion for working with a talented team to bring epic events to life, Maria’s goal as Director is to ensure SRB continues to leave a lasting impression as one of Melbourne's leading event venues. Immensely proud of the staff culture and family atmosphere she has nurtured here, Maria loves to lead her team of event enthusiasts from start to finish to make our clients’ dreams come true, everytime.
Cinzia Daskarolis
With a lifetime of experience and expertise in the wedding and events industry, our Event Planning Manager Cinzia is all about L O V E. Cinzia’s happy place is standing in the middle of the ballroom planning how she can best execute our client’s vision and dream event. Attentive, warm and always happy to offer a helping hand, Cinzia is a consummate professional as she guides SRB client’s through their exciting and major life milestones, weddings, corporate events and celebrations.
Jessica Arimatea
Our much loved Operations Manager Jessica is the point of contact on the day of our events and makes sure that all our clients, their guests, our team and suppliers are looked after, taken care of, and the event is flawlessly managed. Jess' wonderful, calm under pressure nature, enthusiasm for people, attention to detail and focus on the overall experience ensures that all events are unforgettable, and go off without a hitch!
Rob Cadoni
Rob’s passion for events stems from a love of food and bringing family and friends together to celebrate and create memorable moments full of love and laughter in a great atmosphere. He replicates that feeling at SRB, with a keen focus on customer service and overall experience. As Director, Rob possesses an innate understanding of event management, dedication and attention to detail; and thrives on leading a creative team to success.
Vanessa Cross
Vanessa has been inspiring San Remo Ballroom wedding couples for almost a decade with her attention to detail and creativity, and is everything you could ever wish for as your Event Executive. People are her passion, and that shines through with every event. Vanessa truly listens to what the client wants, and then helps to create magical memories with personal touches - exceeding client expectations every time!
LAURA CIANTAR
Combining a naturally sweet and friendly demeanor with a solid foundation in the food and beverage industry, Laura seamlessly integrated into the SRB family. A proud graduate of William Angliss with a Bachelor of Event Management under her belt, she didn't just stop at excellence but soared to the Dean's list, showcasing her unwavering dedication and intelligence. Laura is more than just brains and a charming personality; she’s also our in-house calisthenics enthusiast! Bringing energy, expertise, and flair to every event, Laura is passionate about transforming our couples’ visions into tangible, unforgettable experiences.
LAUREN SAMUELS
With over 15 years in the industry, Lauren stands as a marketing maestro , having worked with the industry’s best event companies. Her dynamic blend of creativity and passion has fueled SRB's marketing campaigns for more than six years. Recognised and adored industry-wide, Lauren's unmatched experience, coupled with her genuine enthusiasm for sales and marketing, makes her a pivotal cornerstone of our team. Her commitment to excellence and innovative approach ensure that SRB always sparkles in the spotlight.
NAOMI MASON
Meet Naomi, the vivacious spirit behind our seamless event operations. With her bubbly and outgoing nature, she not only supervises events but fills the room with an infectious enthusiasm. Passionate about events, especially weddings, Naomi believes there’s nothing quite as magical as celebrating love.With a decade under her belt in the hospitality sector, her expertise lies deeply rooted in event management. Her organized approach, backed by her Bachelor of Business in Hospitality, Tourism, and Events Management, ensures that every event is executed flawlessly.
The History
Of San Remo Ballroom
The iconic San Remo Ballroom has been an integral part of the social fabric of inner city Melbourne for almost 50 years, with the premises on Nicholson Street in Carlton North being steeped in over 140 years of historical significance in the city. The central Carlton location has been a prime service and entertainment location in the city since its inception in 1870. It has served a variety of functions since then, including a cycling school at the beginning of the 20th century, a roller skating ring, a furniture store and enjoyed a 20-year stint as the beautiful Adelphi Theatre.
In its lifetime, our grand building has mostly been used for social gatherings of fun and entertainment, and when San Remo Ballroom redeveloped the space in 1963, we made sure to keep that tradition and heritage alive. Having now occupied the building for almost half a century, San Remo Ballroom has built and maintained a stellar reputation amongst the finest entertainment and event hosting establishments in Melbourne and throughout Victoria.
2020 was a challenging year for SRB, when a fire ripped through and damaged our beloved venue in February, and then the lights dimmed on all events throughout Victoria as the Covid19 pandemic hit the state in March. Although devastating at the time, we chose to find the silver lining and took the opportunity to reimagine, redesign, update and elevate our decor and overall offering throughout our rebuild. It was a true testament to the sheer grit and dedication of the San Remo Ballroom team, as it took over a year to rebuild and literally rise again from the ashes; and in May 2021, the doors reopened and we relaunched – brighter, bolder and more beautiful than before!
We are proud to be the venue that hosts your most treasured memorable moments, and the backdrop for your events and celebrations. Over our 50 years, San Remo Ballroom has become intertwined in so many Melbourne family’s stories and histories – becoming almost another family member, as you return time and time again to celebrate more milestones and life achievements.
